Erkki Johannes Hiltunen
Research Director, Leader of the Renewable Energy Research Group, and Director of the Vaasa Energy Institute, Vaasa University
Erkki Johannes Hiltunen, PhD in physics at the University of Turku, Finland. His current position in the Technical Faculty, University of Vaasa, is research director (full professor competence required); leader of the Renewable Energy research group, director of the Vaasa Energy Institute. He has broad teaching experience at the University of Turku, where he acted as university lecturer and associate professor, as well as at Vaasa.
Hiltunen acted as a member of steering groups preparing energy strategy of Regional Council of Ostrobothnia and Southern Ostrobothnia regions. He is a member in the consulting group and in the steering group of Energy and Environment strategy group of the City of Vaasa. His research interest is in the renewable energy sources like geo(thermal) energy and sediment energy.
